Elements of pathophysiology
and definitions

According to the current understanding of the pathophysiology of the disease, enuresis can be the result of either an excess of urine production at night, bladder reservoir dysfunction during sleep, or a combination of both. A prerequisite for the enuresis episode to occur is that the child does not wake up to the signals of bladder activity and/or a full bladder.
