Warning signs

While investigating your patient's history and home life, keep an eye out for the warning signs below and follow up with the recommended steps we've provided under each.

  • Weight loss, growth retardation and/or nausea

    Check creatinine and urine glucose. Physical examination.

  • Voiding difficulties, weak stream, need to strain to void.

    Check uroflow and residual urine. Physical examination.

  • Heavy snoring or sleep apneas.

    Contact otorhinolaryngologist. Physical examination.

  • Secondary nocturnal enuresis with recent debut

    Check urine glucose. Physical examination.

  • Excessive thirst with a need to drink at night.

    Check urine glucose. Complete a fluid intake list.
